Our Personal Development courses include Health, Career Planning, and Capstone. These important classes offered by Mizzou Academy are geared towards assisting students with making healthy choices and determining their best future pathway forward. Through an examination of course content, you will acquire a better understanding of how they help students reach this desired outcome. In this session, we will also be offering suggestions on how to energize your students to start planning for the future.

Speech and Debate
Our Speech and Debate sequence is designed to grow confidence in public speaking as students learn how to structure different types of messages, research, practice delivery, and use visual aids. In this session, we will cover the highlights of Speech A, Speech B, and Debate, celebrate the successes of the year, and review updates for 2022.  We will share our perspectives and experiences with the group and will ask you to do the same so we can continue to improve these dynamic classes!

Our Composition and Literature sequence is based on the power of story, our important place in this world, and our journey to connect with others through communication in all its forms. In Comp & Lit 1, 2, and Survey, students explore genres, make connections, and develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to become powerful communicators. In this session, we will explore an overview of our Composition and Literature sequence and updates for 2022. We will discuss best teaching practices and share celebrations, questions, and feedback so that you can start the new year with excitement and a sense of purpose.
